This step shows how to install spacer nuts. Some divers don't use spacer nuts and prefer to lay the backplate on top against the doubles, sandwiching the wings. Which technique you use depends on what kind of tank/wings/V-weight combo you use and what works best for you.

Depending on what kind of backplate and wings you are using you will want to add one nut or two to provide clearance for your wings or V-weight. In this case a lock washer and 1 nut was perfect.

It provided enough space for the wing without sticking out too far and....

leaving too much sticking out beyond the wing nut.
